About me
I’ve been drawn to computers since I was a kid. It started with games – first on a Commodore 64, later on MS-DOS and Windows 3.1.
I got into programming later, through a technical high school, where I studied automation and computer applications. Then I spent a semester studying Open Informatics with a focus on artificial intelligence at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague. It was only one semester, but the programming courses there got me hooked even more and made it clear what I wanted to do. I went on to a bachelor’s degree in information systems at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem, tutoring programming along the way and getting my first experience as a junior Java developer.
After winning a hackathon in Ústí nad Labem, I got a job offer from Infinity Energy to work on XDENT. I spent almost three years there working on this software for dentists and on the iklient client portal – on the backend, the web and Flutter mobile apps. Since 2020 I have been working as a freelancer. I build and run a system for purchasing, warehousing and sales for SILISAN, I worked on the backend of the online life insurance mutumutu and the HGS project at Creative Dock, and I spent several years back at XDENT as a contractor, among other things integrating payment terminals and payment gateways. Through SWEHQ, I then built the Go backend, the website and the mobile app for Groowia’s smart hydroponic planter Oliver.
What I enjoy most is the backend and projects I can see through from start to finish: from the database design through the API and user interface to deployment and the infrastructure everything runs on. I like working directly with the people who use the system and helping them adjust their processes so the software really makes their work easier.
