Groowia is a Czech company that develops and sells Oliver – a smart hydroponic planter for growing herbs, vegetables and spices at home. From July 2025 to March 2026 I worked on the project as a full stack developer, contracted through SWEHQ: on the backend, the website and the mobile app.
About the project
- Oliver grows plants without soil, from nutrient capsules, and waters them on its own as needed.
- The Olí app guides you through setting up the planter and reminds you what to do and when to harvest.
- The planter is sold through the company’s own Shopify store.
What I worked on
- Go backend – the API for the app and for managing the smart planters.
- Website – the Nuxt frontend.
- Mobile app – Nuxt and Capacitor with custom native modules in Swift and Kotlin, including the native Shopify SDK integration.
- Store integration – connecting Shopify to the backend.
