HGS

HGS was an internal system for managing insurance of large cargo ships, built by Creative Dock for a German client. I moved to it in March 2022 after mutumutu and worked on its backend. The project was later discontinued.

About the project

• A non-public tool for managing ship insurance, meant for the client’s internal use.
• Developed by Czech and German teams working together.

What I worked on

• Rewrite from Java to Node.js – moving parts of the backend to the new stack.
• Refactoring – cleaning up and simplifying the existing code.
• File storage integration – connecting to a third party’s custom file storage through its API.
• Client communication – agreeing on requirements with the client and with the German team that built the storage.
